Another one from March – 27th, Fine let’s make it April
This will probably make me sound like a right cow – but, with the lockdown end on the horizon and the prospect of us getting back to work in the office, many of our general chit-chats at work have turned to topics of:
- So have you achieved anything during the lockdown ?
- Did you do some of the things you were planning to do ?
- Oh my gosh, I’m not going to fit into my clothes !
And I have to admit to feeling pretty rather smug when the question is posed to me. I’ve started planning my Get-Back-To-Office outfit, which is nearly 2 sizes smaller than the one I left behind in March 2020. I’ve been sharing with some of the people on the team that I don’t get to speak with often, how I’ve lost nearly 2st in weight, built up the self-sufficiency of my little side-line crafting business, and learned to speak Mandarin Chinese (well almost, still working on that).
Now I know, I know, some people simply didn’t have the time, between looking after children, parents, and other responsibilities – but some did, and they whiled away their time on Netflix (as did I to be honest). So yes, I do feel a little smug. And I ain’t gonna apologise for it. At least not today.
Bye.
P.S. Seriously though, I’m planning my Get-Back-To-The-Office outfit. I’ve rediscovered several body hugging dresses in my wardrobe I forgot I even had, and while I ain’t Cindy Crawford and still got plenty of curves and some spare extras, I look fit in them now – even if I say so myself (ooh Channelling that Jaime Lee Curtis post again, I think).
What I’m really thinking of is a red skirt (if I can get hands on one), to go with one of my red tops, and be a lady in red on Day 1 back in the office. Nice pair of heels, touch of make-up, do something with the hair………… if you’re in London one day in August and spot a woman in red, strutting her stuff like there’s no tomorrow, that might just be me…… LOL more LOLs
